Wounding incident, Manoora: A 29-year-old Manoora woman was charged on Friday following a disturbance at a Marchant Street residence.
Police will allege the woman had been socialising with a number of others at the address when she became involved in a verbal argument with another woman.
The situation escalated into a physical altercation and the pair were separated by others present.
It will be further alleged that a second physical altercation occurred in the back yard area where a 36-year-old woman sustained a stab wound to the thigh.
Upon leaving the residence, the 29-year-old woman also smashed a window in the victim’s vehicle.
Police attended and the woman was apprehended and taken into custody a short distance from the residence. The 36-year-old victim was treated at the scene before being transported to the Cairns Hospital for further treatment.
She was charged with one count each of unlawful wounding and wilful damage and is scheduled to reappear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 4.
Burglary and assault charges, Bayview Heights: Two 15-year-old boys were charged on Saturday following an early morning burglary incident at Bayview Heights where a man was allegedly assaulted.
It will be alleged that three male youths gained entry to two vehicles parked in the driveway of the Gouldian Street residence and stole a credit card.
It will be further alleged that they then entered the home via an unlocked door at around 3:30am and were in the lounge room area where the male resident had fallen asleep. He awoke and challenged the youths and got into a physical altercation with one of them, during which he was bitten on the arm.
The youths then fled on foot and police were notified. A Dog Squad crew attended and tracked the group through numerous yards and streets for around 45 minutes before locating two youths on Girralong Street at Woree.
The pair, from Manoora and Mooroobool, were each charged with one count of burglary and two counts of entering premises and stealing. The Manoora youth was further charged with one count of assault occasioning bodily harm.
The stolen credit card was recovered and returned to the victim. Investigations are continuing into the incident.
Wounding and drug charges, Parramatta Park: A 21-year-old Parramatta Park woman and a 16-year-old Mooroobool girl were charged on Saturday following an incident at a Terminus Street residence.
It is understood that the pair had attended the address, which is a share house residence, to visit a friend. The group socialised there until around 10pm before being asked to leave by a 27-year-old man who resides at the address.
An altercation then ensued on a stairway at the residence where it will be alleged the 27-year-old man sustained a stab wound to the thigh.
The pair then left and were subsequently located by police a short distance away.
The 27-year-old male victim was treated at the scene before being transported to the Cairns Hospital for further treatment.
The woman was charged with unlawful wounding and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later this morning.
The 16-year-old girl was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled drug.
