Multiple Charges, Alexandra Headland
Police have charged a man following an incident at an apartment complex at Alexandra Headland overnight.
It will be alleged that at around 1.30am this morning (August 17), police responded to reports of an alleged break in occurring at an address on Okinja Road.
Upon their arrival, Police located two men on a balcony, one of which allegedly attempted to flee by jumping from balcony to balcony.
It will be further alleged the man began throwing bottles of beer at police while threatening self-harm.
Police negotiators attended the address a short time later, bringing about a peaceful resolution with the man voluntarily surrendering into police custody.
A 22-year-old Maroochydore man was charged with three counts each of trespass, two counts each of obstruct police and one count each of wilful damage, burglary, public nuisance and enter premises with intent.
Police objected to his bail and he was remanded in custody with his next appearance being tomorrow (August 18) at Maroochydore Magistrates Court.
