Attempted robbery, Albany Creek

Police are investigating the attempted robbery of a taxi driver at Albany Creek overnight.

Around 3am, a man entered the cab at Eatons Hill and asked to be taken to a Geebung address.

During the trip, he verbally abused and assaulted the driver and demanded money.

The driver managed to stop the vehicle on Albany Creek Road at the intersection of Ferguson Street where the passenger ripped the meter box from its housing and then punched out a window.

He fled the scene but without any money.

Investigations are continuing.
