Road safety week, kicks off across the Cassowary Coast today

Anyone fortunate to be listening to the radio around 8:15am every day this week will have the delight of hearing my voice across the air waves, giving out tips and reminding road users as to why we have the Fatal fFve campaign.

We have a number of events on during the week, for road safety.

A chat with senior road users
On Tuesday August 22, myself and some of the lovely ladies from our Road Policing Unit will be at the CWA hall at 1, McGowan Drive, Innisfail at 10am to speak with our senior road users on all things driving related. Come on down and ask those questions you’ve been curious about.

Truckie tool box talk
On Friday August 25, Innisfail Road Policing Unit along with Department of Transport and Main Roads officers will be giving a truckie tool box talk at the Truck Pad, Bruce Highway, southbound lane approx. 2.5km north of Babinda. They will be there to talk to truckies about truck weight and dimensions, and of course, any other questions you may have. The event will run from 7:30am until 2pm.  Stop by and grab a coffee and a bacon roll while you have a chat with the officers.

Chat with a cop at driver reviver
Between 11am and 2pm, Friday August, 25 local police and Department of Transport and Main Roads officers will be opening the driver reviver at the Fred Drew Park, Innisfail at the intersection of Bruce Highway and Palmerston Highway. Come along and have a cuppa and chat with them about all things road safety.

Come along to the events and speak up for road safety like Ashley, Jarrod, Darren, Rita and Kath and Peter did on Saturday at the Mission Beach Banana Festival.
