Suspicious fire, Nerang
Police are investigating after a suspicious fire in Nerang early this morning.
At around 1:30am emergency services were called to a home on Bushmead Street following reports of a fire.
A 26-year-old man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital and later the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment of serious burns, where he remains in a critical condition.
A crime scene has been declared and forensic investigators will return to the scene today.
