Update: Bus driver assault, Mount Gravatt East
A man has been charged following the alleged serious assault of a bus driver at Mount Gravatt East yesterday evening.
It will be alleged around 6pm on August 26 a man boarded a bus at the intersection of Cavendish Road and Creek Road and became involved in a verbal altercation with the male driver.
It will be further alleged the man head butted the driver, causing a serious facial injury.
The man then allegedly made a further attempt to punch the 67-year-old driver before fleeing the scene.
The driver was transported to QEII Hospital suffering a facial fracture.
Police today arrested a 17-year-old Mount Gravatt East man and charged him with serious assault.
He has been bailed to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 12.
