Acts intended to cause GBH charge, Mermaid Waters

A 28-year-old man was transported to hospital with serious injuries following an alleged stabbing at a Mermaid Waters residence early this morning.

Police will allege around 1.15am an altercation occurred between two men at a Tequila Court address during which time a 28-year-old Mermaid Waters man sustained several wounds to his arms and torso.

Police investigations lead officers to a Burleigh Heads address where a 28-year-old man was taken into custody, he was subsequently charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

Police will allege that the 28-year-old Burleigh Heads man has links to the Lone Wolves Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.

Police investigations are continuing, with detectives appealing for anyone that was in the area of Tequila Court, Mermaid Waters around 1am to contact police.
