Griffith University students learn how to ‘drink rite’

On Tuesday Gold Coast Police along with the Department of Transport and Main Roads hosted a Drink Rite trivia night at Griffith University Gold Coast Campus as part of road safety week. Drink Rite is a Queensland Police Service program that aims to promote a responsible attitude towards alcohol consumption and drink driving.

Students were able to test their reaction times in the driving simulator whilst using ‘beer goggles’. It was enlightening to witness how alcohol consumption affected participants reaction times (and blood alcohol levels) differently.

Drink Rite promotes a simple message to all: ‘If you are going to drink alcohol – do not drive.’
