Robbery with violence, Sunnybank

Police are investigating after a 70-year-old woman was robbed and assaulted by two men in Sunnybank last night.

Preliminary information indicates around 10.30pm the woman parked her car at an address on Aminta Street.

After exiting her vehicle she was approached by a young male who demanded she hand over her wallet.

Another man then approached her from behind, grabbed her handbag and attempted to pull it from her shoulder.

The woman called for help and during the struggle she fell to the ground, causing injury.

The two men then fled the scene with the woman’s wallet.

She was transported to Greenslopes Hospital for further assessment.

The men are described as possibly teenagers, Caucasian in appearance and were wearing dark clothing.

It is possible they were travelling in a dark coloured Mitsubishi Lancer or Mazda 3 which had been parked on nearby Coomley Street.
