Fatal traffic crash, Charters Towers
Police are investigating after a man has died in a traffic crash near Charters Towers this afternoon (September 3).
At about 5.50pm, the vehicle was traveling on the Lynd Highway when it has left the road and crashed approximately 5km north of Charters Towers Road.
The 34-year-old male driver and only occupant was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other persons were injured during the incident.
The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.
