Break and enter charge, Woree:  A 37-year-old Parramatta Park man was charged yesterday following investigations into the unlawful entry and theft of property from a Woree business premises.

It will be alleged the man forced entry to a Southgate Close towing business premise in the early hours of August 27 and stole a cashbox containing a sum of money, as well as keys to several vehicles parked in the yard of the business.

The man was located in Bunda Street at around 10:30am yesterday. He was arrested and charged with entering premises and stealing and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later this morning.  

Property charges, Cairns: A 15-year-old girl from Manoora was charged yesterday as investigations were finalised into a burglary incident at Trinity Park late last month.

It will be alleged the girl was part of a group who gained entry to an Angor Road dwelling in the early hours of August 29 while the residents slept and stole handbags, keys and other items before stealing two vehicles from the driveway.

One vehicle was located at around 7am near the intersection of Gommory Close and Lissner Crescent at Earlville and the second at around 9am, dumped in Saltwater Creek at Edge Hill. Both vehicles were significantly damaged.

Cairns Property Crime Squad officers attended a Manoora address at 10am yesterday and the girl was taken into custody.

She was charged with one count each of burglary, wilful damage, unlicensed driving, failing to stop and stealing, as well as two counts each of unlawful use of motor vehicles and entering premises with intent to steal.

Seven other youths aged between 13 and 17 have previously been charged in relation to the incident and investigations are now completed.
