Great success at the annual Innisfail PCYC Cassowary Coast Car Show

The 2017 annual Innisfail PCYC Car Show was another huge success again this year. Approximately 1000 people walked through the gates on Fathers Day, Sunday, September 3 and over 80 automobiles were on display at the Innisfail Show Grounds this year.

Event organisers, Innisfail PCYC Manager, Sergeant Mick McGuire, PCYC staff member Kellie O’Connor and Police Liaison Officer Stacey Kneubuhler have once again come true to their word and promise, stating this year was going to be even bigger and better.

The 2016 event won the Community Event of the Year at the Cassowary Coast Australia Day Awards in January this year.

All those who attended were treated to a fantastic array of cars, huge wheelbarrow raffle, lucky door prizes, market stalls, show bags for dads and live music.

There was also a variety of food stalls, decadent hot coffees, taste-bud tantalising cannoli and icy cold drinks for sale.

Before the day was out, there was some serious judging to be done. Motor enthusiasts who entered a vehicle were all in for bragging rights and to win in their nominated category.

Innisfail PCYC Branch Manager, Sergeant Mick Maguire said the event was a great success.

“Events such as these are only a success with dedicated staff and the assistance of volunteers,” Sergeant Maguire said.

“These events are only as successful as the communities attendance and once again it was wonderful to see the community turnout and support the Innisfail PCYC annual Cassowary Coast car show.”

PCYC is a not for profit organisation and all funds raised allow the centre to run youth and crime prevention programs within the local community.

All money raised from last years event has seen a youth intervention project, Team Up, being rolled out through a number of schools from Mirriwinni to Tully.

The Innisfail Advocates Lis Champion was trying out the Ferrari for size.

Congratulations to all the event organisers, sponsors and those who gave their own time and efforts in making this year another great success and giving the community and families a special day out.
