Police officer wounded, South Brisbane
A 25-year-old man is assisting police with inquiries following the wounding of a police officer in South Brisbane last night.
Around 10pm, the officer responded to reports of a man causing a disturbance on Grey Street.
Upon attendance, the officer and the man were involved in a brief struggle before the officer received a wound under the jawline from what is believed to be a pair of scissors.
The 54-year-old male sergeant was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment to a non-life-threatening injury.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
