Unlicenced driving, Mareeba: Police have charged a Gordonvale man after a traffic incident in Mareeba on Wednesday afternoon.

It will be alleged police intercepted the 46-year-old man on the Kennedy Highway Mareeba at about 4:50pm and checks revealed he was unlicensed. This was the man’s second offence and his registration plates were seized for seven days.

The driver is scheduled to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on October 3, charged with one count of unlicensed driving.

Drink driving, Mareeba: Police have charged a local man after a traffic incident in Mareeba on Thursday morning.

It will be alleged Police intercepted the 22-year-old man on Royes Street, Mareeba at about 3:35am and when required to provide a roadside breath test, he returned a reading of 0.189 per cent BAC.

Police also conducted checks on the man’s driver licence which showed he was court disqualified.

The driver is scheduled to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on September 25, charged with one count each of drink driving and unlicenced driving.
