Update: PSPA declared, Surfers Paradise

Police have revoked an emergency situation that was declared last night at Surfers Paradise.

Officers were called to a disturbance at a unit just after 6pm on The Esplanade.

When officers arrived at the scene, a man inside a unit started making threats and began throwing items from the balcony.

A declaration was made under the Public Safety Preservation Act at 7.20pm and was revoked at 5.10am.

A 32-year-old man is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Investigations are continuing.
