Motorcycle theft charge, Cairns: A 42-year-old Manoora man was charged yesterday as part of ongoing investigations into the theft of a motorcycle from Parramatta Park earlier this year.
It will be alleged the man was with another unknown male when they entered the carpark of a Martyn Street apartment complex just before midnight on July 9. Once inside they allegedly stole a motorcycle, loading it into a utility and driving out of the complex.
Detectives arrested a man at a Pease Street address early yesterday morning in relation to the incident.
He was charged with stealing of a vehicle and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 6.
The stolen motorcycle has not been recovered to date. It is described as a 2009 Suzuki GSF1250S Bandit. The bike is blue in colour and when stolen was bearing Qld registration 886OE.
Fraud charges, Smithfield: A 29-year-old Palm Cove man was charged yesterday following investigations into a number of fraud related incidents.
It will be alleged the man had possession of a credit card that had been stolen from a vehicle parked on Reed Road at Trinity Park on July 19. It will be further alleged that he used the card on five occasions to make purchases at businesses at Clifton Beach and Smithfield.
Detectives executed a search warrant at the man’s residence at around 11am yesterday and he was taken into custody.
He was charged five counts of fraud and is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court next month.
