Unlicenced driving, Mareeba: Police have charged a Mareeba woman after a traffic incident in Mareeba on Thursday evening.

It will be alleged police intercepted the 20-year-old woman on Ceola Drive Mareeba at about 8.10pm and checks revealed she was unlicensed.

The driver is scheduled to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on October 9, charged with one count of unlicensed driving.

Assault police, Mareeba: Police have charged two men after an incident in Malanda on Thursday evening.

It will be alleged police attended an address on Ann Street at about 9pm in relation to another matter and when detaining a 19-year-old Atherton man he became angry and aggressive and stuck out at the single officer striking him in the shoulder. Police were also forced to arrest a 39-year-old Goondi Bend man who attempted to obstruct police in the execution of their duties.

The 19-year-old man is scheduled to appear in the Atherton Magistrates Court on September 26 charged with one count of public nuisance, and two counts of obstruct/assault police and the 39-year-old man is scheduled to appear in the Atherton Magistrates Court on October 17, charged with one count of obstruct/assault police.
