Public Nuisance, Mareeba: Police have charged two men after an incident in Mareeba on Monday afternoon.

Police were called to a disturbance on Jasper Street at about 3.55pm and located a 21-year-old man and a 35-year-old who were allegedly fighting in the street.

The local men are scheduled to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on October 9 and October 23, respectively, charged with one count of public nuisance.

Stolen vehicle, Lake Eacham: Police are investigating after a vehicle was stolen from Lake Eacham on Monday afternoon.

Initial investigations suggest that an unknown person/s has allegedly stolen the victim’s backpack sometime between 4pm and 4.30pm. The vehicle was then taken from Lake Eacham carpark.

The stolen vehicle is a blue 1999 Toyota Camry station wagon Queensland Registration 184VXJ, anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Public Nuisance, Kuranda: Police have charged a local man after an incident in Kuranda on Monday afternoon.

It will be alleged a 25-year-old man has pointed an unloaded spear gun at a 43-year-old man known to him at about 5.30pm after an argument at an address on Hickory Road, Kuranda.

The man is scheduled to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on October 16, charged with one count of public nuisance.
