Sexual assault charge, Gold Coast
Police investigating the alleged sexual assault of a 20-year-old Gold Coast woman last Saturday (September 23) have charged the male driver of a ride-sharing service.
It will be alleged the woman ordered a vehicle around 1am at Surfers Paradise with the driver stopping the car at one point during the journey to sexually assault the woman.
A 24-year-old Coombabah man has been charged with one count of each of rape and common assault.
He appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court this morning and has been remanded in custody to re-appear on October 10.
