Fatal traffic crash, Miriam Vale
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash near Miriam Vale earlier today.
Around 11.40am, a Mercedes sedan travelling in a westerly direction on Fingerboard Road stopped to turn into Bindaree Road, giving way to a Kia Cerato travelling east.
A Nissan Patrol following the sedan has attempted to overtake, travelling onto the incorrect side of the road before clipping the Kia and Sedan.
As a result of the impact the male driver of Kia was pronounced deceased at the scene.
One of the vehicles caught fire, however was quickly extinguished by motorists who witnessed the crash.
The occupants of the other vehicles were transported to Gladstone Hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Fingerboard Road has reopened to traffic.
