Police from Mackay are investigating an incident where it is alleged that a vehicle has struck a pedestrian in the Mackay city.

The incident happened at 2:40pm on September 29, on Sydney Street near 9th lane.

A female pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway when she has been struck by a car in the process of reversing.

The contact has knocked the female over. It’s alleged that the male driver has made eye contact with the female before driving away from the scene.

Officers are seeking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may possibly have dash cam footage linked to it.
