Update 2: Homicide, Petrie Terrace
A man aged in his early 30’s who was the subject of a serious assault on Petrie Terrace early this morning has passed away in hospital as a result of the incident.
Detectives from the State Crime Command, Homicide Investigation unit are now assisting with investigations in relation to the matter and an investigation centre has been established at City Station.
At around 4am officers were called to the intersection of Milton Road and Petrie Terrace following reports a man had been assaulted.
It is believed a verbal altercation occurred between two men who were crossing Milton Road, and a man in a vehicle which was travelling inbound on Milton Road. The car stopped and a man exited the vehicle assaulting one of the pedestrians.
The man was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition with stab wounds to his abdomen and back.
