Armed robbery and impersonate police, Wakerley
Police are investigating after a man had his car stolen by an armed man in Wakerley early this morning.
Preliminary information suggests around 3.20am a 21-year-old man was driving home through Tingalpa when a light coloured sedan pulled up beside him at traffic lights.
The vehicle continued to follow the man as he drove to an address on Lexey Crescent and stopped in the driveway.
A male occupant of the unknown vehicle then activated a red and blue flashing light and approached the man, produced what appeared to be a handgun, and demanded his car keys.
The victim complied and fled down the street.
The man then left the scene in victim’s car, followed by the unknown vehicle.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 30s with blonde thinning hair and was wearing dark-coloured clothing.
The stolen vehicle (pictured) is very distinctive and police are urging anyone who may have seen it to call Triple Zero and not approach the occupants.
The car is described as a Dark Blue Ford XR6 with 19-inch chrome wheels, QLD registration 571TBO, and a large 20cm green and black sticker on the front windscreen that reads “Profile auto sport”.
The victim did not sustain any physical injuries as a result.
