Burglar/car thief strikes in East Mackay
A thief has entered a home in Rae Street, East Mackay at 1:30am this morning through a closed but unlocked back door. At this time, the resident was asleep in the lounge in front of the television set – very near to the point of entry. The thief has quietly moved through the lounge room and found the car keys and a wallet (containing cash, bank cards and identification cards) on a dining room table.
The car keys were used to enter and steal a silver 2014 model Nissan Navara dual cab, registration number 011 PRO. The noise of the car being quickly driven from the address by the thief is what woke the resident up. Police don’t have access to an image of the stolen car to share with you.

- While home layouts can vary wildly, suggestions for locations where you can store your car keys don’t have to be complicated. Ask yourself, if you were a thief in your own home – where would you not look for car keys? That is the place to store them;
