Say my name, say my name – protect against property crime
If you were the type of child who used to carve their name into a tree when you were younger – this post may be of interest to you.
Police can now offer you twice the number of methods to engrave or mark your valuable items – EG Tools, with identifying information. Police station’s and PCYC’s have historically always offered residents an engraver for this purpose, we now have something new for you.
Think of it as an invisible pen (correctly called a permanent UV marker pen) which has been made available through Neighbourhood Watch Queensland. Take your valuable tools to a police station (or have an officer come to you) and we can either inscribe OR mark your tools with our magic pen.
Police use a specific coded method of recording a name against your valuables (tools) which enables us to identify you as the owner should they ever become stolen and land in our hands after the event.
I’ve said the word tools three times before this sentence. Number four on this very line – there is a reason for this. Crooks are almost being hyperactive in their efforts to steal tools from cars, homes, garages and even businesses. We are encouraging you to do all that you can to ensure the security of your cars/home/business …. of course.
But now engravers and invisible pens give you another option. Contact your local police station for further information (an effort to pass on information to your sub-conscious mind about what thieves are targeting in our area is below).
PS – tools tools tools tools tools tools tools tools tools tools tools tools tools tools tools.
