Cairns crime wrap, October 13
Arson, Earlville: A 46-year-old Woree man has been charged overnight after emergency services were called to a vehicle fire at an Earlville business.
Police attended the Mulgrave road address at about 1:15am this morning where they observed the vehicle ablaze.
The fire was soon extinguished by Queensland Fire and Rescue Services; however, the vehicle has been destroyed as a result.
Police later arrested and charged the man with one count of arson and he’ll appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 30.
Property offences, Edge Hill: Police have charged a 16-year-old Manunda boy overnight with property offences allegedly committed at several Edge Hill addresses.
It will be alleged the boy committed the offences at several Edge Hill addresses before being located at about 11pm at another Edge Hill address, where he was arrested after running from police.
The boy has been charged with two counts of burglary and commit indictable offence and one count each of entering a dwelling with intent by break at night, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property, trespass and obstruct police.
