Serious traffic crash, Capalaba

A 66-year-old man was transported to hospital in a serious condition following a traffic crash in Capalaba this morning.

Just after 5am a car travelling eastbound along Elmhurst Street has left the road before striking a guard rail on the median strip and has then rolled a number of times.

The car has also clipped the rear of another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

Police and emergency services attended the scene and the 66-year-old man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.

The forensic crash unit is investigating.
