Drink driving, Atherton: Police have charged a local man after a traffic incident in Atherton on Friday night.
It will be alleged that Police intercepted the 42-year-old man on Tower Avenue at about 10.17pm and when required to provide a roadside breath test, provided a reading of 0.158 per cent.
The driver is scheduled to appear in the Atherton Magistrates Court on October 31, charged with one count each of drink driving and driving unlicenced.
Drugs charges, Millstream: Police have charged a local man after an incident in Millstream on Saturday afternoon.
It will be alleged that Police were called to an address on Western View Crescent at about 3.40pm in relation to another matter. An emergent search of the address was conducted and a small number of cannabis plants were located growing in the yard and cannabis and drug utensils were located in the house.
The man is scheduled to appear in the Atherton Magistrates Court on November 7, charged with one count each of produce dangerous drugs, possess dangerous drugs and possess drug utensils.
Attempted stealing and drink driving, Mareeba: Police have charged a local man after an incident in Mareeba on Saturday evening.
It will be alleged that Police were at an address on Egan Street Mareeba at about 9pm in relation to another matter when they heard the police vehicles engine stop. Police observed the 44-year-old man sitting in the driver’s seat of the police vehicle attempting to drive it. It will also be alleged that when required to provide a roadside breath test, provided a reading of 0.212 per cent.
The driver is scheduled to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on November 6, charged with one count of attempted unlawful use of motor vehicle and attempt to put vehicle in motion whilst UIL.
Drugs charges, Mount Carbine: Police have charged two people after a search warrant was executed in Mount Carbine on Sunday afternoon.
Police executed a search warrant at an address on the Mulligan Highway, Mount Carbine at about 3.50pm and located a number of items of interest. A 37-year-old local woman was found in possession of a small amount of cannabis as well as drug utensils and is scheduled to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on December 4, charged with one count of possess dangerous drugs and two counts of possess drug utensils.
A 36-year-old Mowbray man was located in possession of a number of shotgun ammunition and is scheduled to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on December 4, charged with one count each of failing to have authority to possess explosives, unlicenced driving and contravene direction.
