P2 driver blows 0.202 percent

A vehicle with faulty tail-light and brake lights raised the attention of police from the Rapid Action and Patrols early on Saturday morning.

Police intercepted the vehicle to find the driver had only recently received his P2 licence and wasn’t displaying P plates.

A roadside breath test was conducted with the driver allegedly recording a breath test of 0.280 percent BAC. The driver was transported to the Kirwan Police Station where he recorded a blood alcohol concentrate of 0.202 percent .

A 42 year-old man from Kirwan was issued with a notice to appear in the Townsville Magistrate Court on October 24 charged with driving under the influence liquor and failing to display P plates.
