Update: Serious assault, The Gap

Detectives have charged a woman with attempted murder after the serious assault of a baby in The Gap this morning.

Around 6.30am the baby was found with multiple facial injuries in a room of the Ridgeway Street residence.

A 64-year-old woman from The Gap has been charged with one count of attempted murder.

She is expected to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, October 18.

The woman and the infant are known to each other.

The four-month-old boy was transported to the Lady Cilento Hospital where he remains in a serious condition and is currently undergoing surgery.
