Driver charge with drink driving after pedestrian injured at Caboolture

Police investigating a traffic crash in which a woman was critically injured on a pedestrian crossing at Caboolture last night have charged a male driver with drink driving

Police will allege a 19-year-old Caboolture woman was riding her bicycle across a Pettigrew Street pedestrian crossing around 8.30pm (October 17) when she was struck by a utility.

The woman sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the utility, a 33-year-old Caboolture man was charged with driving a motor vehicle whilst over the middle alcohol limit but not over the high alcohol limit, after allegedly returning a positive result of .114 per cent.

He is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on November 29.

Police investigations into the crash continue.
