Armed robbery with wounding charge, Crestmead
Logan detectives investigating an alleged robbery at Crestmead this evening have charged a man with armed robbery.
It will be alleged a man entered a Waratah Drive bottle shop around 6.30pm and was confronted by a 29-year-old male employee when he tried to walk out without paying for some alcohol a short time later.
A 60-year-old local man, a customer in the store, seeing what was occurring, followed the man outside and attempted to restrain him.
During a brief altercation it will be alleged the 60-year-old man received a significant laceration to his arm from a bladed weapon, before the other man fled the scene, leaving behind the alcohol.
Following investigations Logan detectives arrested a 20-year-old Waterford West man and charged him with armed robbery and immediately after wounded another.
He was denied police bail and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow morning, October 19.
The injured man was transported to hospital with a non-life threatening arm injury.
