Burglary, West End (Townsville)
Police have charged a man after a home in West End was broken into last night.
It will be alleged that just before midnight, a woman at a home in Martinez Street was woken by her dog barking and four people were seen running from the address towards the end of the street.
It appears that entry was forced to the front door and a laptop, tablet, overseas currency, a decorative sword and car keys were stolen.
Police immediately began patrols of the area and with help from a security guard at a nearby shopping centre, were able to locate a 19-year-old Garbutt man who had alleged stolen property on him.
He was arrested and charged with one count of burglary.
He is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court this afternoon.
