Shop Stealing, Garbutt
Police have charged two women with shop stealing offences following an incident that occurred at a sporting store on Duckworth Street, Garbutt yesterday.
At about 12.30pm, two women were observed taking a number of clothing items from the shelves and placing them into a handbag. The women then left the store without making any attempt to pay for the items.
A short time later, police located two women and conducted a search. Police will allege that they located a number of items in one of the women’s handbag with the tags attached.
A 49-year-old Aitkenvale woman was charged with shop stealing and is expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on November 15.
A 27-year-old North Ward woman was charged with stealing and fail to appear. She is expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today.
Drug charges, Garbutt
A woman has been charged with drug offences after police observed her acting suspiciously in a carpark at a shopping complex on Duckworth Street, Garbutt
At about 4.20pm, police have observed a male and female exchange an item and the female has placed this item in her purse.
Police will allege that this female then returned to a vehicle. Officers conducted a search and located a quantity of dangerous drugs including methylamphetamine, cannabis, a needle and a pipe.
A 34-year-old Kirwan woman was charged with two counts of possession of a dangerous drug, and one count each of possess utensil, possess anything for use in the commission of crime, and fail to take reasonable care in respect of syringe. She is expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on November 7.
Burglary, Rasmussen
Police have charged three boys with a number of property offences.
At about 9.10am on Sunday, police were called to Saltbush Boulevarde after receiving information that three youths had damaged windows at a house.
Police attended and arrested all three boys.
Two 12-year-old Rasmussen boys were charged with enter dwelling with intent and wilful damage.
A 14-year-old Rasmussen boy was charged with two counts of wilful damage and enter dwelling with intent.
