Street incident involving an axe leads to multiple charges, Mackay
A 24-year-old man has been charged with a string of offences after an alleged incident in Mackay on October 21.
Around 10.30am, police were called to Margaret Street following reports of a man allegedly in possession of an axe causing damage to a car at a nearby address.

After an extended dialogue and the arrival of assisting officers, the man has lowered the axe to the ground and co-operated with officers. He was subsequently arrested without incident.
A 24-year-old South Mackay man has been charged with two counts of obstruct police, and one count each of going armed to cause fear, wilful damage, and failing to properly dispose of a needle and syringe.
He is scheduled to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court this morning.
