Robbery charges, South Brisbane
Police have arrested six youths in relation to a number of violent robberies at Musgrave Park in South Brisbane on October 22.
It will be alleged around 10.30pm, two men aged 18 and 26 were walking past a pool at the park when they were approached by up to six teenagers who demanded money.
One of the men was then punched in the stomach before the group stole property and cash belonging to the two men.
It will be further alleged around 10.50pm, the same group of youths approached a 24-year-old man walking through Musgrave Park and assaulted him before taking property.
At around 11.10pm, a 25-year-old man walking through the park was also pulled to the ground, kicked and punched before having money and property stolen from him.
All three robberies were reported to police and soon after two men, three boys and a girl were arrested. The four victims of the robberies sustained minor injuries.
A 17-year-old Slacks Creek man was charged with four counts of robbery and is due to reappear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 13.
A 17-year-old Acacia Ridge boy was also charged with four counts of robbery and is due to reappear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 13.
Two 16-year-old boys, a 15-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
Acting Detective Inspector Richard Lacey, Central Crime Group said: “These arrests are a culmination of excellent police work in identifying those involved.”
