Unlawful use of motor vehicle charges, Zillmere

Police have charged two men after drugs where allegedly found in a stolen car which had crashed into a tree at Zillmere overnight.

At 3.30am police observed an alleged stolen vehicle on Zillmere Road, Aspley. Police activated lights and sirens however the vehicle sped away. Police stopped on Zillmere Road.

The stolen vehicle turned right into Murphy Road and then left the road and collided with a tree.

Police arrested two men at the scene.

A 21-year-old Lawnton man has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of dangerous drug (Methylamphetamine), fail to stop motor vehicle and unlicenced driving.

A 21-year-old Windsor man has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

It will be alleged the vehicle was stolen from a house in Gaythorne on the October 22.

Both are expected to appear at the Pine River Magistrates Court on October 30.
