Update: Serious assault, Nerang
Police have charged a man following and alleged serious assault at a park on Cayuga Street, Nerang, yesterday.
It will be alleged at 4.25pm a 51-year-old man and a 46-year-old man who are known to each other became involved in a physical altercation.
The 51-year-old man was struck a number of times which resulted in him falling to the ground and hitting his head.
He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
A 46-year-old Nerang man has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and is expected to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on tomorrow, October 30.
