Armed robbery, assault – Woree
Police are appealing for public assistance following the investigation of an armed robbery and assault of a woman at Woree early this morning (August 27).
At about 1.40am, a woman was walk along Rigg Street when a man approached her with a screwdriver, robbed her of her personal belongings and assaulted her.
The man is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, slim build and wearing a hoodie.
The woman was taken to a local hospital and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been near a service station on the Bruce Highway, Woree overnight and seen the incident or, has dash-cam footage to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.
