Armed robbery charge, Deeragun

Townsville Detectives have charged two people following investigations into an armed robbery in Deeragun on August 25.

It will be alleged at around 9:30 on August 13 a car was stolen from a business on Reward Crescent in Bohle.

At around 6pm on August 25 the 37-year-old male owner of the stolen car located his vehicle in a shopping centre on Geaney Lane in Deeragun.

It will then be alleged another man approached the owner of the vehicle, assaulting him and threatening him with a firearm which was inside the car, before fleeing the scene in the stolen vehicle.

As a result of their investigations police today located two people at an address on Forestry Road in Bluewater Park, where they were taken into custody.

A 25-year-old Vincent man has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of armed robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, stealing, receiving tainted property, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing utensils or pipes.

A 19-year-old Vincent woman has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

They are both due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on August 30.
