Attempted armed robbery charge, Toowoomba
Detectives have charged a man following an alleged attempted robbery in Rangeville this afternoon.
It will be alleged at 4.30pm a man entered a Perth Street convenience store and threatened the male staff member with a knife, demanding money.
The staff member retreated to a back office and phoned police. The man fled the store.
A short time later a man attended the Toowoomba Police Station and handed himself in.
A 21-year-old Cambooya man has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence. He is expected to appear at the Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow, October 2.
