Attempted burglary, Rural View
A little bit of tough cheddar for one of our crooks in Rural View over the weekend.
Attempts were made to enter a locked and secured home in Moreton Drive, Rural View between 10pm on October 20 and 2am on October 21. The front door of the residence is a mesh security screen door which was closed and locked – the crook has cut through the security mesh and attempted to interfere with the locking mechanism.
The mechanism had been key locked by the resident – this meant that the crook could not unlock the door. Out of frustration it would appear that the crook has then attempted to use brute force to get inside – causing damage but not resulting in access for them.
Following a well known formula of crooks for checking every aspect of a target home – the crook has moved into the back yard and attempted unsuccessfully to force a closed and secured window. No luck for them there either – the window could not be opened.
Finally, the crook has moved to the rear mesh security screen door (which was also key locked), the mesh has been cut and it appears that efforts were again made to interfere with the locking mechanism unsuccessfully. This may be where the crook has met the dog which lives at this address – in their rush to get away the crook has knocked a nearby bird cage to the ground.
