Aurukun community fun run

Aurukun community fun run

Aurukun Fun Run was a great success and well supported by local police and our PCYC

The Aurukun Shire Council held their annual River to Ramp fun run from Oban Beach to the Aurukun Boat Ramp.

This year we saw several of our local Aurukun Police take part in the 7.5km run which was supported by the QPS and Aurukun Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC).

Aurukun Officer in Charge, Senior Sergeant Brett Jenkins was impressed by the number of police officer who backed up for the run after working a midnight to 8am shift the night before

“It’s pleasing to see our local police getting involved in our community and taking up this challenge,” Senior Sergeant Jenkins said.

Aurukun PCYC Branch Manager, Acting Sergeant Nick Mullarvey agree community involvement was important.

“It was a great day and a typical example of the great involvement we see from local police, our PCYC and the Aurukun community,” Acting Sergeant Mullarvey said.

Nothing like a show off on the starting line
