Bicycle Helmet Safety initiative winner announced
A very surprised and happy young Oliver Brown was presented with an iPhone 7, drawn as a part of the Bicycle Helmet Safety initiative in Elanora.
In a twist of fate, Oliver was struck by a car last year and was wearing his helmet at the time. If he had not been wearing his helmet he would certainly have been seriously injured or worse.
The support of the business community and Palm Beach, Currumbin and Elanora High schools was great to see and appreciated.
Oliver thought he was there to be part of a story on bike helmets and got a great surprise when he found out he won the prize.
Police will continue to address helmet compliance for the rest of the year as it is a serious safety issue for cyclists.
