Strangulation charge, Manoora: Detectives yesterday charged a 19-year-old Parramatta Park man with one count each of strangulation, common assault, wilful damage and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
It will be alleged the man assaulted an 18-year-old woman known to him after a dispute in Enmore Street, Manoora on Monday.
It is further alleged the man choked the woman before punching her in the face, causing facial injuries.
The unlawful use of a motor vehicle charge relates to a motorbike that was allegedly stolen on August 10.
The man is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
Property charges, Manunda: Cairns Property Crime Squad detectives yesterday charged a 15-year-old Manunda boy with three counts each of enter premises with intent and stealing; and one count each of attempted burglary and trespass.
It will be alleged the boy entered an educational facility in Gatton Street, Manunda and stole a quantity of food and a sum of cash from a vending machine on multiple occasions this month.
It’s further alleged he attempted to break into a unit in Gatton Street on September 15.
Traffic crash, appeal for information, Earlville: Police are investigating a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred at about 6.10am yesterday in the parking area at a school in Balaclava Road Earlville.
Witnesses heard hooning noises before the vehicle lost control and crashed into a school fence, dislodging fence posts and panels.
The vehicle is described as a white van and fled, later driving along Mestrez street, toward Balaclava Road.
