Speeding offence, Innisfail: On Saturday August 26, a 26-year-old male from the United Kingdom was issued an infringement notice for $169 for exceeding the speed limit on the Bruce Highway, South Innisfail.
Police allege the man was detected with a speed of 92km/h in an 80km/h speed zone.
Speeding offence, Webb: On Sunday August 27, a 65-year-old man from Innisfail was issued with an infringement notice for $252 and 3 demerit point deductions.
Police allege the man was detected exceeding the speed limit on Coquette Point Road, Webb and was detected at 80km/h in a 60km/h speed zone.
Juvenile Drink Driver Innisfail: Police have charged a 16-year-old local boy with being in charge of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and driving whilst unlicensed.
Police will allege the juvenile was located on Clifford Road on Sunday morning at around 4am.
A subsequent breath test allegedly returned a positive reading. He is scheduled to appear in the Innisfail Children’s Court on September 18.
Drug Charge Innisfail: Innisfail Police have charged a 26-year-old Tully man with possession of a dangerous drug.
Police will allege that on Saturday August 26 officers were speaking with the man in relation to another matter and they have located a quantity of Cannabis.
The man is scheduled to appear at the Innisfail Magistrates Court on September 18.
Expired Drivers Licence: On Sunday August 27, a 36-year-old man from Webb was issued an infringement notice for driving with an expired licence.
Police allege that man was intercepted driving a vehicle on Mourilyan road, East Innisfail.
Checks revealed that the licence had expired by more than one year. The man was issued with a $252 infringement notice.
School zone reminder: Police would like to remind road users to be aware of the 40km/h school zone speed limits.
Local police will be enforcing speed limits between designated times on school days: 7am – 9am and again from 2pm-4pm.
Motorists are also reminded they are not permitted to enter a controlled school pedestrian crossing until such time as the supervisor has cleared the crossing.
