Constable Day adopted at Annandale State School
On Thursday August 31 Constable Felicity Day was formally adopted at an all school assembly also attended by a number of parents at Annandale State School.
The assembly was addressed by Acting Inspector Leonie Steyger, Acting Officer in Charge of Stuart Police Station Senior Sergeant Gavin Oates and by Constable Felicity Day.
Acing Inspector Steyger stated that it gave her great pleasure to be at this assembly to officially swear in Constable Day as the Adopt-A-Cop for Annandale State School. She stated that the role as the school police officer forms a very important part of the role within the community and that Constable Day will become a part of the school being seen regularly in the class rooms, lunch breaks in the playground and at other events such as sports carnivals and fetes.
Constable Day said she was very privileged to officially become a part of Annandale State School through her induction as an Adopt-A-Cop. She was very much looking forward to seeing and meeting more students on a regular basis and getting to know the students more closely.
The official certificate was signed by the principal Jan Cooper, Senior Sergeant Gavin Oates and Constable Day. A copy of this special certificate will be held at the school.
