Dangerous driving, serious assault police charges, Pallarenda
Townsville Police have charged a man with dangerous driving and serious assault police after a vehicle was allegedly driven towards police at Pallarenda this morning.
Around 7.15am police attempted to speak to a man in relation to a vehicle parked along The Esplanade.
It will be alleged the man was verbally aggressive towards police before getting into the parked car and driving in the direction of a police officer, who had to jump out of the way to avoid the car.

The car then collided with a fence and came to a stop with the male driver exiting the vehicle and allegedly throwing punches at police, with an officer struck in the face and mouth.
Following a violent struggle, the man was arrested and transported to Townsville Watch house where he was charged with dangerous driving, serious assault police, assault police and obstruct police.
A 45-year-old Pallarenda man has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Monday, August 21.
