Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle charge, Herston

Police have charged a man with a number of offences after he allegedly evaded police in Herston last night.

Police will allege a red Holden Commodore collided head-on with a white Holden Malibu sedan that was travelling east along Herston Road after failing to stop for police.

The teenage driver of the Commodore was arrested at the scene.

Police will further allege he returned a positive roadside drug test with a further sample of the man’s saliva having been sent away for analysis.

The driver of the Commodore, a 19-year-old Holland Park man, was charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, fail to stop motor vehicle, drive unregistered motor vehicle, possess utensils, fail to stop at a line before entering intersection and drive across continuous white edge line.

He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 21.

The driver of the Malibu and his front male passenger were transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
