Dirty dancing thievery, Airlie Beach
A Mandalay resident was dancing at a licensed venue on Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach at 11pm on August 19. His luck apparently took a turn for the better when he was joined by two females who danced closely with him over a period of time.
At about 11.50pm the two females have stopped dancing and promptly left the venue – this is when the Mandalay resident realised his wallet and mobile phone (Samsung Galaxy S8) had been stolen out of his pocket by one or both of the female dancers.
The two females are described only as being Asian in appearance. The victim’s wallet was later found on the ground outside the licensed venue.
How quickly your night out can turn from strutting your stuff to counting your pennies. Pick-pocket incidents are not common in our police district (thankfully) – let’s together keep a close eye on proceedings from now on though.
